Lettie Passport: how to earn country stamps and all 20 titles

Your Lettie passport is stamped with the countries you exchange letters with. Exchange at least 5 letters in total with people from one country — at least 2 from you and 2 from them — and you get that country's passport stamp along with its postage stamp. There are 20 titles, and you can wear one under your name.

How a country gets stamped

• It adds up by country. Letters with everyone from the same country count together.
• Only delivered letters count. A letter still in flight counts once it arrives.
• Conversations started in Discover count the floated letter that started them as one letter.
• Your own country isn't stamped. Only letters with people abroad count.
• Stamps are permanent. The passport is updated when you open it, and a stamp stays once it's there.
• The country's postage stamp comes with it. For the 103 countries with stamp art, the stamp arrives with the passport stamp (if you already own it, you get the passport stamp only). More in Lettie stamps.

Six continents

The passport has six cells: Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania. A cell lights up with any stamp from that continent. Three continents earn "Continent Connector"; all six earn "Friend of Six Continents".

Titles can't be bought, only earned. The one you wear shows under your name on your letters and profile. App versions older than 2.0.26 show only 7 titles, so update the app.

Share your passport as a card

In the latest version of the app, the share button on the passport cover makes a card with your stamps, title and letter count to post on social media. It never includes letter text or anyone's name.

Realistic ways to collect stamps

1. Reply to letters from different countries — envelopes in Discover come from all over. Spread your replies instead of staying with one country.
2. Get past the third letter — a stamp needs at least two letters from each side. See how to keep a pen pal conversation going.
3. If you're the one waiting, send one more — if three days pass after your letter arrives with no reply, you can send one more letter.
