Pen pal app stamps: the 6 kinds of Lettie stamps and how to get each
Lettie stamps come six ways: free default stamps, the 10-gem stamp draw, a shop of 103 country stamps, passport stamps, free holiday stamps and reply rewards.
On Lettie, the stamp you choose goes on your letter's envelope and arrives with it. There are six ways to collect stamps: the default stamps you start with, picture stamps from the 10-gem draw, country stamps from the shop (103 countries, 15 gems each), passport stamps that come with a country stamp in your passport, free holiday stamps for sending one letter, and reply-reward stamps.

What stamps are for
- They go on your letters. Your chosen stamp goes on the letters you send and on your stopover greetings, and your pen pal sees it on the envelope.
- Stamps you receive pile up. Stamps on letters you receive collect in your "Stamps received" album, with a count for each.
- They earn titles. Four passport titles come from stamps (below).
The stamp draw
It's the first cell of the stamp shop. For 10 gems you get one stamp, newly painted in pixel art from one of 158 subjects. The pictures never contain words, numbers, flags or logos. If the picture can't be made, no gems are used. You can draw up to 30 times a day, and a drawn stamp goes on your letters from the next one on.
Country stamps in the shop
The shop sells stamps for 103 countries at 15 gems each. You can't buy one you already own, and a bought stamp goes on your letters from the next one on. Many people send the stamp of the country their pen pal lives in.
Collecting stamps without gems
- Holiday stamps — send one letter during a holiday window such as Halloween, Christmas or Lunar New Year and a stamp arrives for free. Dates are in the 2026–2027 holiday stamp calendar.
- Passport stamps — exchange more than 5 letters with people from one country and that country's stamp arrives with your passport stamp.
- Reply rewards — your first thoughtful reply in a conversation (at least 40 characters not counting spaces, or 20 if half or more of the characters are Chinese, Japanese or Korean) earns gems, and reaching your first thoughtful reply, 10 thoughtful replies and thoughtful replies to 5 countries each brings a commemorative stamp. You can also spend the gems on the draw.
Titles you earn with stamps
- Stamp Stylist — send letters with 3 different stamps
- Stamp Collector — own 10 different stamps
- Little Stamp Museum — own 30 different stamps
- Holiday Collector — 3 different holiday stamps
The collection titles (Stamp Collector, Little Stamp Museum) count stamps from the draw, the shop, holidays, reply rewards and the passport. The default stamps you start with don't count.

Frequently asked questions
- Do Lettie stamps cost money?
- No. Default stamps, holiday stamps, the country stamp that comes with a passport stamp, and reply-reward stamps are free. Only the stamp draw (10 gems) and country stamps from the shop (15 gems) use gems.
- Can I get the same stamp twice?
- The stamp draw paints a new picture every time. Shop stamps have one design per country, and you can’t buy a country stamp you already own.
- Does my pen pal see the stamp I chose?
- Yes. The stamp you pick goes on the envelope of the letters you send, arrives with them, and stays in your pen pal’s “Stamps received” album.
- I drew a stamp but no picture appeared.
- If the picture can’t be made, no gems are used. Try again in a moment. Picture stamps show as pictures in the latest version of the app.
